Khan expressed his intention to be available online while meeting members of Pakistani Writers Club (PWC), a Riyadh-based literary group. The Pakistani envoy may be the first top diplomat from the sub-continent to use social networking sites to be in touch with the community members. Faiz Al-Najdi, Patron-in-Chief of the PWC, said Khan is committed to work for the welfare of the community and he is seen in the forefront whenever required for help. Khan has assured that the Pakistani Embassy would address the welfare issues that the community is facing in Saudi Arabia. “The envoy expressed his desire to get in touch with community leaders on a daily basis via social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter and other online Internet groups,” said Najdi. Ambassador Khan assured the PWC delegation that embassy officials will always be available to help solve any grievances or address welfare issues of Pakistani workers in Saudi Arabia. Prior to his posting in Saudi Arabia, Khan served as Ambassador of Pakistan to the Philippines from December 2005 to October 2009.
