Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — Pakistan Ambassador Muhammad Naeem Khan met with Labor Minister Adel Fakeih to discuss matters related to the employment and welfare of the Pakistani expatriate community based in the Kingdom as well as ways and means to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of labor. During the meeting, the ambassador thanked the minister for his and the ministry's support for the wellbeing of Pakistani workers. The ambassador discussed the significant role played by the Pakistani workers in the development of the Kingdom. Fakeih said Saudi Arabia recognizes the efforts and contribution of the Pakistani workers in the Kingdom's development. Khan said there was a need to hold regular bilateral consultations on labor issues to ensure a better working environment for Pakistani workers, among other benefits. The minister told the ambassador that the Ministry of Labor was working on a project aimed at reviewing the conditions of employment in Saudi Arabia and would be inviting representatives from seven countries including Pakistan to participate in this project. The ambassador replied that the embassy would fully support the initiative. Khan also discussed compensation for Pakistanis who lost their lives or were injured in the recent gas tanker explosion in Riyadh. Fakeih said the matter would receive his full attention and support.
