DAMMAM — Two-hundred-and-ninety-four passengers spent two hours in the desert when their train broke down on its way from Dammam to Riyadh. The train experienced a technical problem with one of its wheels and had to stop at Kilo 292, near Hofuf. Spokesman for the Saudi Railways Organization Mohammad Abu Zaid said the train left Dammam at 8.56 on Saturday morning. The technical problem was dealt with by separating the broken down car and the train continued its journey on the parallel tracks. He added that the train resumed its trip at 1.47 p.m. and apologized to passengers affected by the delay.
