JEDDAH – In its effort to further develop bilateral trade relations between India and Saudi Arabia, the Consulate General of India, Jeddah successfully concluded a two-day catalogue show of Indian companies at Al Baha City on Tuesday. Catalogues of more than 100 Indian companies, covering a wide range of sectors such as machinery, tools and equipment, textiles, automobile and spare parts, building material, foodstuff & spices and fashion, were on display. M K Ghildiyal, Consul (Commercial) and Pawan Tripathi, Vice Consul (Commercial), Consulate General of India, Jeddah were in the city for the show. The catalogue show of Indian companies was inaugurated by Ali M. Mongash, Vice Chairman of Al Baha Chamber of Commerce & Industry, at the premises of the Chamber. He lauded such an initiative from the Indian Consulate, Jeddah. Hatim Saeed Al Safi, Vice Chairman, who was also present during the inauguration, said the catalogues displayed during the show would provide a unique opportunity to Saudi businessmen there to get firsthand information of the Indian goods and services. Noting that the Indian catalogue show was the first of its kind event ever organized by the Chamber, Secretary General Engr. Safar G. Al Zahrani conveyed his happiness to host the show and welcomed such initiatives from the Indian Consulate. Ghildiyal expressed hope that, with this beginning, more business ties would be forged between India and Saudi Arabia. Whenever required, the commercial wing of the Consulate is always available to assist the Saudi businessmen from Al-Baha, he added. – SG
