JEDDAH — Police in Jeddah arrested a three-member gang who used red pepper to rob their victims. They would toss the pepper in their victims' faces, blinding them temporarily, and then steal their money. A police patrol noticed people gathering at a shop operated by an Arab national. The gang came into the shop pretending to be customers. One of the gang members tossed red pepper in the face of a shop worker and stole SR1,500. Undercover police teams searched the neighborhood and arrested a suspect whose description matched that provided by the shop worker. The suspect led the police to the rest of the gang members.
