Nouman, Hakeem light up ORIX event

RIYADH — Ten matches were played in the Round Eight of the Saudi ORIX Cricket Tournament being organized by Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA) here recently.
In Al-Kharj Cricket Zone, Lahore Badshah beat Shuraim by 71 runs. Put into bat, Lahore Badshah scored 275. Tariq (54), Yassir (46), Wahab (35), Shoaib (30) and Adnan (29) were the main scorers. Irfan, Mubashir and Zeeshan took two wickets each for Shuraim. Shuraim, in reply, was all out for 204. Wasim hit 63, Shahnawaz 38 and Waqas 29. Shoaib took four wickets, while Yassir bagged three.
In another match, Pak Shaheen defeated Jawar Al-Jazirah by a huge margin of 165 runs. Pak Shaheen scored 384 in 40 overs, thanks to great knocks by Abdul Wahab (96) and Ateeq (92). Abdul Salam and Javed added 66 and 51, respectively. In reply, Jawar Al-Jazirah was all out for 219. Abdulaziz took three wickets, Abdul Wahab two and Ateeq two.
Lahore Lions beat CKK in another Al-Kharj Zone match. Batting first, CKK scored 329 in 40 overs. Nouman Asghar played a splendid knock of 140. He was well supported by Najeeb (69). Omar claimed three wickets, while Waqas bagged two. Lahore Lions achieved the target in 37.4 overs. Amir Waqas remained unbeaten on 90, Sarfraz scored 64, while Omar and Mansoor made 46 each.
In Huraymala Cricket Zone, Hyderabadi Warriors beat Riyadh Panthers by four wickets. Batting first, Riyadh Panthers scored 164 in 20 overs. Sajid Cheema scored 65 and Yaser 28. Mohammed bowled well and took four wickets. Naser also took two wickets. Warriors achieved the target in 19 overs. Naser scored 46 and Imroz 38. Raza bagged two wickets.
In another encounter, Fuchs beat RAC by 46 runs. Batting first, Fuchs made 189-7 in 20 overs. Owais and Shoaib made 58 each. RAC was all out for 143. Shahid bagged three wickets, while Asghar and Rizwan bagged two each.
Saudi Jaguar, meanwhile, beat Riyadh Warriors by six wickets. Riyadh Warriors, batting first, scored 171. Saudi Jaguar achieved the target in 16.1 overs. Haider scored 61 and Arsalan 45.
Attieh Steels beat Combined XI by 54 runs. Attieh Steels scored 189-6 in 20 overs. Ameen and Ahmed took two wickets each for Combined XI. Combined XI could manage only 136, in reply. Asad and Ahmed scored 27 and 25, respectively.
In Riyadh Cricket Zone, Crescent beat Kashmir XI by seven wickets. Batting first, Kashmir XI was all out for 189. Naveed took three wickets, while Rehman and Mehtab bagged two each. Crescent reached the target in 16.5 overs. Irfan made 71, Azhar 53 and Sufiyan 32.
TBCC beat Pak Force by 6 runs. Batting first, TBCC scored 156. Shareef scored 40 and Faisal 39. TBCC restricted Pak Force to 150, thanks to disciplined bowling and great fielding. Hakeem Libas took five wickets and Anish bagged two. Shamim Khalil took five catches.
Another match saw Royal Strikers beat Lahore Badshah Green by 43 runs. Royal Strikers scored 190-6 in 20 overs. Musthafa scored 54, Dileep 26, Siraj 23, Subair 22 and Mithun 21. Lahore Badshah was all out for 147. Siraj and Arun picked up two wickets each.
Banque Saudi Al-Fransi (BSF) has, meanwhile, delivered the sponsorship check to RCA for the 2012-13 season. BSF is one of the major sponsors of RCA events for years. The RCA officials thanked Abdulrahman Jawa, Deputy Managing Director, BSF, for his support for cricket.
