JEDDAH — Mohammed Amjad (117), Abid Naseem (105) and Zeeshan Amin (104) cracked centuries in the Hyundai-WPCA Cricket Championship, which is being organized by Western Province Cricket Association here.
Hyundai Premier Cup
In the first match, Hala Gems thrashed Crown Steel by 137 runs. Hala Gems tallied 361 in 35 overs. Muhammed Amjad hammered 117, Moazam 74, Imran 54, Ammir Sajjad 66. Ejaz grabbed 3-56. In reply, Crown Steeel's Abid Naseem also slammed a century (106). Aftab made 26, Jawad 32 and Abu Huraira 29. Kashan took 3 wickets and Amjad 2.
In the second match, My Care Hala defeated AOT by 52 runs. My Care Hala batted first and scored 335 through Kashif 78, Rahat 56, Waheed 57, Babar 58 and Jawad 41. Nasir Bhai took 3 wickets, while Faiq and Zeeshan shared 2 each. AOT, in reply, was all out for 283. Faisal 59, Ilyas Lashi 56 and Naeem Shah 41 were its main contributors. Zahid and Kashif claimed 3 wickets and Muhammed 2.
In the third match, DOPCO trounced IDB by 134 runs. DOPCO tallied 305. Main scorers were Shahbaz 88, Shoaib 44 and Nadeem 41. Jabbar, Arif and Mohsin grabbed 2 wickets each. IDB, in return, folded up for 171. Abdullah Shah hit 64 and Arif 41. Shoaib Ali claimed 5-31 and Imran 2-26.
Hyundai Afternoon Cup
In the first match, Fuchs Al-Hamrani defeated Desert Lions by 5 wickets. Desert Lions scored 130 in 18 overs and Fuchs Al-Hamrani chased it in just 14 overs with the help of Muhammed Ali, firing 84.
In the second match, Contraco downed Mazco by 36 runs. Contraco, batting first, scored 196, helped by a superb knocks by Kaleem 71 and Maqsood 69. In reply, Mazco was all out for 160. Its main scorers were Junaid 76 and Zahid 33.
In the third match between MCH Green and Natcom ended in a thrilling tie. Natcom, batting first, scored 165 through Waqas 55 and Jameel 41. Aftab took 3 wickets. In reply, Hassan 52 and Yasir 34 led from the front to force a tie.
In the fourth match, DOPCO Safa Al-Bawadi defeated Hala International School by 62 runs. Dopco batted first and tallied 212. Ali and Murtaza scored 41 each. Hala, in reply, managed 150 mainly through Mohsin 31, Zeeshan 37 and Anas 30.
