Syeda Amtul Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Indian Consul General Faiz Ahmed Kidwai praised the community effort to bring the Indian schools on one platform, and said these schools should interact, share cultural events and reach for talents among these children. He was speaking at the — JeddahIndian Community (JIC) -International School's Day that was celebrated and organized by JIC as a part of a two-weeklong India Festival 2013 at the auditorium of International Indian School (IISJ) boys' section, Thursday. He said: “We have about 10 schools with Indian CBSE curriculum in Jeddah alone, and their combined strength is about 3,000. “The basic idea behind this event is to gather all schools on one platform.” Apart from this, he added that these events will help to improve bilateral relations, the kind of actual interaction among two societies will enhance. While congratulating JIC for its efforts, Kidwai said these events help in improving bilateral relations, and such events boost actual interaction among two societies.” Seven international schools participated in the event: Al Falah, Al Fazal (Makkah), Al Fazal, Al Worood, Al Mawarid, Jeddah Ahdab, Mahd Al Uloom, Novel and IISJ Alumini Assosiation. JIC coordinator V.K. Roauf welcomed the guests followed by a presentation from Al Abeer educity — featuring educational city plans for Non-Resident Indians. Syed Ahmed, medical director of Al Abeer Group, also addressed the gathering. Earlier appreciation awards were given to all participating schools. Fusion dance with a patriotic theme was presented by Al Falah school's tiny tots; a beautiful dance on “Rang de Basanti” was also featured by them. Mahd-ul Uloom presented a spectacular folk dance of Kerala and captured the hearts of the audiences. Medley songs of Atif Aslam hits were presented by Farid Ali Khan from the IISJ Alumni Assosiation. A Gujarati group dance was presented by Jeddah Ahdab, and a group dance by girls on Indian patriotic songs was displayed by Al Fazal (Makkah), while Al Worood boys performed a magic show. Thematic dance of Mahd–ul Uloom, group dance on an Arabic song by Al-Fazal, medley patriotic theme song by Al Falah and a Bharat Natyam recital by Jeddah Ahdab were among the other head turners. Karate-stunts by Al Wurood, integration dance of boys and girls by Mahd ul Uloom, national integration performance by Al Mawarid and Zubair Siddiqui of IISJ Alumni with his songs too entertained the crowd. Edusport concept was presented by Al Wurood and the program was emceed by Asim Zeeshan and JIC's Siadat Ali Khan gave the vote of thanks.
