QUNFUDAH — Police in Qunfudah busted a Pakistani truck driver who attempted to smuggle 240 bundles of the qat, a narcotic leaf, into the Kingdom. A police source said officers at a checkpoint grew suspicious of the truck driver. When police started searching the truck, they found the qat hidden underneath the truck. The driver was arrested and held for questioning. According to the police, the driver picked up the cargo in the south of the country and was on his way to Jeddah.
