JEDDAH – Al-Salamah police are investigating a youth who was taken into custody along with two others Friday evening for possessing a submachine gun, ammunition and several bottles of liquor. Police patrols noticed a vehicle moving in the wrong direction on Hera Road. They tried to stop the motorist, but he refused to pull up and sped away putting people's lives in danger. Police fired at the vehicle in their bid to stop him but them man dodged them and continued on his way. An attempt by a patrol unit to block his path also failed. He was finally cornered in the rest-houses area in northern Jeddah.
