Taif - Police in Taif arrested an illegal Yemeni national who managed a number of street peddlers. He was previously deported but managed to reenter the country. The local committee for monitoring peddlers noticed a number of illegal stalls in Taif and discovered that the Yemeni was responsible for them. Police apprehended the suspect near King Fahd Mosque while he was selling goods. He resisted police and verbally abused members of the committee. He also attacked a citizen wile he was trying to flee the scene. All vegetable and fruit boxes and money were confiscated. Spokesman for Taif police Lt. Col. Turki Al-Shehri said the committee notified the police of the suspect, who was selling vegetables in front of the mosque. The suspect is currently being questioned.
