Qunfudah — Search and investigation teams from Al-Darb police apprehended 90 people hiding out in a valley at Al-Kadrah. A police patrol grew suspicious of a vehicle that was frequenting the valley. The area was surrounded and raided and the offenders were apprehended. Police sources said smugglers were using the valley as a gathering point before moving to other areas. Qunfudah police also foiled an attempt to smuggle 15 people into Jeddah. A police patrol suspected a car driven by a citizen and asked him to stop. The driver refused to stop and the patrol followed him and stopped him on a bridge north of Qunfudah. Yemeni nationals without any identification papers were in the car. They admitted paying the driver SR800 each to smuggle them into Jeddah.
