A bid to smuggle large quantities of the qat narcotic in a car was foiled on Al-Darb-Bish Highway on Saturday. The qat was expertly hidden in various places in the car. Meanwhile, two facilities for manufacturing liquor were discovered in Al-Darb. Six barrels of Araq were discovered at the first facility located on a farm in a valley near Al-Mudiri while 20 jerry cans of liquor were found at the other facility near Al-Kadrah. Both facilities were being run by overstaying expatriate workers. – Okaz __
