Abdulrahman Al-Ali Okaz/Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Security personnel raided an apartment in Al-Rabwah neighborhood, east Jeddah, to bust an illicit liquor manufacturing plant. The plant, operated by an Asian expatriate, was located in a densely populated area of Asian nationals. The operator closed shut all the building windows and air-conditioning vents to stop any odors from escaping. He converted one of the rooms into a liquor manufacturing plant. The Jeddah police received a tip-off on these activities, and a team monitored the location to verify the information. The team raided the plant, and detained the operator and confiscated the manufacturing equipment. The offender confessed to the crime, and said that he was in the process of expanding his operations.
