Special forces police teams raided a house in east Jeddah that was being used as a factory to make liquor. The raid was conducted based on information received by police that two Asians were selling liquor in the Kilo 4 area. The house was put under surveillance and police officers witnessed an Asian man walking toward the house carrying a black plastic bag. Inside, there were bottles full of alcohol. The man was then seen going inside the house and coming out half an hour later carrying another bag full of bottles. An undercover officer approached the man and asked to buy a bottle. He gave the man a certain amount of money after which the latter pulled out a bottle and gave it to the officer. After checking the contents of the bottle, the officer gave a backup unit the signal to move in and arrest the man who lead officers to the rooms of the house that were being used as a storage place for a large quantity of liquor bottles. “Two Indian nationals were arrested while the liquor bottles inside the house were confiscated,” said 1st Lt. Nawaf Al-Booq, acting spokesman for Jeddah Police. __
