YANBU — The Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA) blanked Yanbu Al-Sinaiyah Cricket Association (YACA) in their two Intercity Tournament matches at MYAS Cricket Ground here recently. In the first T20 match, RCA beat YACA by a narrow margin of 2 runs. Electing to bat first, RCA put on 139-8. Rizwan Manzoor held the RCA innings together and remained scored 36. Salman Butt added 23, Abdul Qadir 19 and Nasir Abbasi 17. Sarfraz claimed 2 wickets, while Nadeem, Afzal and Naseem bagged 1 wicket each. YACA started the chase well, but fell short by two runs. Iftikhar was the top scorer with 40, while Sarfraz remained unbeaten on 34. RCA captain Mohammed Nadeem Babar picked up 4 wickets, including a hat trick. Rizwan Manzoor and Abdul Wahab also took 1 wicket each. Abdul Salam was brilliant in the field and took 2 great catches. Babar was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his bowling performance. RCA again beat YACA the following day in a 40-over match by 19 runs. Again electing to bat first RCA scored 261 runs. Abdul Wahab was the top scorer with 65. Omar Zafar played a patient knock of 60 runs, while Imtiaz Butt added 33, Muzaffar Majeed 22, Kamran Hadi 16 and Nasir Abbasi 14. Israr was the pick of the bowlers and claimed 5 wickets, while Sarfraz chipped in with 3. YACA again started nicely and put on 79 runs for the first wicket. But once the partnership broke, it lost wickets at regular intervals and failed to achieve its target. Afzal was the highest scorer with 52 runs, Ahmedullah made 46, Ijaz 38 and Abdullah 28. Zeeshan Haider destroyed the YACA batting lineup by bagging 5 wickets. Muzaffar Majeed took 3, while Kamran Hadi and Mohammed Nadeem Babar took 1 wicket each. Zeeshan Haider was declared the Man of the Match. RCA Patron Mohammed Anwar and RCA President Tariq Javed congratulated the RCA team for the wins.
