Abdulrahman Al-Ali Saudi Gazette JEDDAH –Police arrested three robbers who stole SR250,000 at knifepoint on Arafat Day from a warehouse. The warehouse's cashier was surprised by three youths holding knives and cleavers in their hands. They threatened to harm the cashier if he did not hand over all the money in the safe. The cashier responded to the three youths' threats seriously and they left the place quickly carrying the loot with them. The cashier followed them and reported the robbery to the owners of the warehouse. The matter was reported to the security authorities in Jeddah, who sent investigators to the scene immediately. Criminal investigators managed to unearth important leads to one of the alleged culprits, a Saudi national and a previous convict. His features and descriptions matched those of one of the gangsters. A CID team was assigned the task of following the suspect. The team succeeded in locating him when he was meeting another Saudi youth and a Yemeni, who did not hold a residency permit (iqama). The security men arrested the three separately in order to investigate them individually. This increased their insecurity and one of them broke down and admitted their crime. He gave full details of the incident. Lt. Col. Nawaf Al-Bouq, spokesman for Jeddah police, said coordination among different security bodies contributed to arresting the culprits, who were very careful to hide their tracks.
