D'Pirates, Penecilla bag honors

RIYADH — League leaders D'Pirates and Johnny Penecilla, one of D'Pirates' bankable players, unleashed separate deadly forms to bag Team and Bowler of the Week honors in the 21st Week of the Itqan Bowlers Group (IBG) Friday Afternoon Bowling League, 2nd Conference action here.
The league is sponsored by Hala International Mabuhay Mobily in partnership with Globe. IBG Advocates is organizing the league which is being held at the Universal Bowling Center (UBC).
D'Pirates snapped a four-game skid with a rousing 26-7 win over SABB Strikers. D'Pirates came out firing 4,374 points against 3,838 of its rivals'. It registered 26 points to claim the Team of the Week award. On top of D'Pirates squad was the week's Best Bowler, Johnny Penecilla, who scored a towering four-game series of 993.
Penecilla carded 256, 167, 289 and 225. Besides Penecilla, those who sparkled in the D'Pirates camp were Celis Viloria, Bembol Velasco and Andro Tismo who fired separate series of 881, 865 and 832. Dennis Gabriel scored 601 in three games, while Fareed Aquino contributed 202 in one game.
For the SABB Strikers, on top was Freddie Solomon with 768 points. He was followed by Noel Morales (747), Resty de Jesus (727) and Allan John Ofreneo (565).
Zaldy Torres and Ric Urrutia Jr. powered Itqan Tornado to dismantle Magnificent-5 25-5. Torres and Urrutia Jr. led Itqan Tornado by posting series of 860 and 812. Jett Cabana registered 783 points to follow Torres and Urrutia Jr. while Butch Mateo and Ruben Babasa shared 648 and 647 in three games. Gigi Enriquez downed 398 points.
For Magnificent-5, playing with blind players, Ely Baraquiel was on top with 890 points. Following him were Jun Daniel (814) and Alex Armada (796).
Xperts outplayed Pinbusters 25-7 through the collective efforts of Ernee Noto (876) and Joseph Osborne (819). Abdulsalam and Will Kirby had 598 and 591 points, respectively.
Anas Hamad sealed 426, while Roger Butler and Dong Yamco collected 383 and 370.
Boy Mirando fired 836 points to top score for Pinbusters. Coming-in next were Marvin Arocena (826), Fhel Ramos (764) and Fathi Abdulaziz (726).
NBA pulverized the Bankrun 24-6, thanks to the heroics of Joe Garrido, who shot an impressive four-game series of 935 (247, 218, 236 and 231). The duo of Nelson de Vera and Ronald Bautista supported NBA by scoring series of 791 and 768. Joe Batolina, Ryan Inigo and Bandar Al-Marshad added 419, 407 and 320 in two outings.
Sam Alinsod and Angelo Train were at helm at Bankrun. Alinsod and Train scored 804 and 802 points, respectively. Angel and Rainier chipped in with 778 and 709. Bankrun had one blind player in their lineup.
Other results: Roll and Bowl beat SACO 23-16, Great Balls of Fire beat Itqan Tenpin Wizards 22-17, Air21 beat Salyng Kits 19-16.
