WPCA: Maqbool wins bowling contest against Abdul Rafay

JEDDAH — Thirteen wickets were shared by two bowlers as Fuchs Al-Hamrani beat Hala Academy Blue by 49 runs in the WPCA Afternoon Tournament here recently.
While Maqbool of Fuchs claimed 7 wickets, Abdul Rafay Mirza of Hala Blue bagged 6 wickets in the tournament, which is managed by WPCA and sponsored by Hyundai.
Fuchs Al-Hamrani was bowled out for 143 with Rashid contributing 29 and Farid 26. Abdul Rafay, however, was the wrecker-in-chief as he finished with figures of 6-27 and Shahbaz claimed 2-23. In reply, Hala Academy Blue could not cash in on Abdul Rafay's performance to crumble for 94 runs as Maqbool grabbed 7-10 and Khooban took 2-25. Lone fighter Abdul Aleem hit 40.
In another match, Nestle Milo, batting first, piled up 167-4 as skipper Abdullah Zahid hammered an unbeaten 74 (3 sixes and 5 fours) in 40 balls.
Qasim Butt scored 35 and Fahim 21. Pak Kashmir, in reply, could score only 139-8 to lose by 28 runs. Imran scored 50 off 38 balls and Waleed 23. Irfan took 2-18, Ijaz 2-20.
In another match, GGI thrashed Jotun Paints by 98 runs. Batting first, GGI made 175-5 with Abdulwasay hammering 54 off 32 balls (7 fours), skipper Pervaiz Baig 38 and Haroon 33. Jotun Paints, in reply, was bundled out for 77 as Zahid grabbed 4-21, Abid 3-17 and Ali 2-4.
Marine Services beat Al-Rayyan by 69 runs. Marine Services piled up 164-8 through Yaseen 40 and Saddam 25. Al-Rayyan, in reply, was bowled out for 95 against some accurate bowling by Riyaz 3-18 and Rehan 2-13.
In another match Desert Lions beat ELAF Advance by seven wickets. Desert Lions, batting first, made 150-3 as Waseem scored 44, Romesh remained unbeaten on 35 and Mushtaq added 32. ELAF Advance, in reply, was home with 153-3 and 26 balls to spare. Majed hit 56 (10 fours and a six) off 32 balls and Usman remained unbeaten on 52 as they added 76 runs for the second wicket.
AMI Juffali won the match against MASCO by 69 runs. Batting first it racked up 184-3 through Nadeem (73) and Imran (52 not out). MASCO, in reply, never seemed to be in the hunt and was restricted to 115-5. Azeem scored 37 and Junaid 31. Skipper Najam took 2-21.
Another match saw Contraco bowled out for 133 as Waseeq Sherwani grabbed 4-27 and Aftab Malik 2-23. Shahzad scored 49 and Irfan Aziz made 25.
Al-Safree was home (134-3) with 34 balls. Rehan remained unbeaten on 71 (8 fours and 3 sixes) and Saeed contributed 45. Irfan Aziz claimed 2-23.
