Pervez, Haroon and Abdul Rafey shine in WPCA event

JEDDAH – Pervez Baig of GGI smashed a fabulous century and added a record 191 runs for the first wicket with Haroon while Abdul Rafey restricted Pak Makka XI with 5 wickets in the WPCA Afternoon hostilities.
Al-Hamrani batted first against Dopco Young Stars to put up 145 through Nasir (61 in 36 balls). Two wickets each went to Waqas, Saif and Mukhtar for 19, 15 and 20 runs respectively. In reply, Dopco Young Stars were home with 6 balls to spare, reaching the winning target of 146 for the loss of 7 wickets. Saifullah made 36. Abdulrazzaq took 2-36, Saqib 2-21 and Ali 2-27.
Pak Mecca XI, batting first, was bundled out for a mere 100 as Abdul Rafey just ran through the Meccans batting lineup to take 5 wickets for 22 runs.
Aleem took 2-17. Hala Academy Blue chased 104 for 4 in just 57 balls as Amjad and Usman hit identical 27 to achieve victory. Majid claimed 2-14.
Jotun Paints opted to bat first against Nestle Milo and was bowled out for 168. Sajid topscored with 38 and Shabbir made 24. Ijaz Butt took 3-45 and Abdullah Zahid 2-33. Nestle Milo was then restricted to 133-8. Ahmed scored 42 and Azfar hit an unbeaten 21.
GGI openers Pervez and Haroon hammered the Pak Kashmir bowlers to plunder 191 runs for the first wicket. Pervez Baig blasted 102 runs in 52 balls with 9 fours and 5 sixes and Haroon was unlucky to miss the ton by 5 runs in 50 balls with the help of 5 sixes and 9 fours. The team tallied 220 for 4. Sher Badar took 3-32. Pak Kashmir was then bowled out for 163 to lose the encounter by 57 runs. Hanif made 43 and Shabbir 26. Ali grabbed 4 for 28, Zahid 2-31 and Ashfaq 2-36.
Al-Rayyan chose to use the track first against Elaf Advance and came up with 165. Abdulqayyum single-handedly stroked 62 in 34 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes. Abdul Wahid made 23. Usman, Hamza and Ziad claimed 2 wickets each for 25, 26 and 15 runs. Elaf Advance despite losing wickets at regular intervals, was home with 2 balls to spare, making 169 for 9. Majid and Usman scored identical 36. Skipper Afzal took 3-23 and all rounder Abdulqayyum 2-20.
Desert Lions put up 154 for 6 against Marine Services through Mushtaq 52 and Waseem 30. Naseer took 2-22. Marine Services, in response, could get to 150 for 6 to lose by just 4 runs. Yaseen scored 43 and Aqeel 23. Khalid took 3-25.
Masco, batting first, crumbled for 99 with 4 run outs. Skipper Junaid made 36. Shahbaz took 2-10 and Ramzan Gulu 2-3. Contraco made 100 in just 48 balls for no loss as Shahbaz plundered an unbeaten 55 and Khurram an unbeaten 34.
