JEDDAH — Police in Jeddah have arrested a man who burgled a woman's house while she was picnicking at the Jeddah Corniche. Col. Ali Al-Ghamdi, Assistant Director of Security Patrols in Jeddah, said police contacted the victim to tell her what had happened. Preliminary investigations revealed the thief had been watching the house to make sure the family was out. He then jumped into the house through a toilet window and stole some gold and a laptop. However, he was stopped by a passing patrol team. On searching a small bag he was carrying, officers found the laptop with a telephone number written on it. When police dialed the number the woman answered the call. When told about the find, the woman told the officers that she had left the laptop at her home. The thief admitted to his crime.
