Police here have arrested a Pakistani woman on the charge of having murdered her husband a few weeks ago. The arrest was made despite the woman's claim on reporting the murder through an acquaintance that her husband was killed in a fight with robbers. She told police that four people had broken into their house here and hit her husband on the head with a cleaver when he confronted them. The robbers then stole all the money in the house and fled, her testimony said. However, an investigation ordered by Major General Ali Bin Muhammed Al-Saddi Al-Ghamdi Director of Jeddah Police and led by the chief of Criminal Investigations found reason to conclude otherwise, from fingerprints lifted from the crime scene. When the detectives from Al-Safa Police Station confronted the woman with a variety of circumstantial evidence, she broke down and admitted to having killed her husband in a fight over money, said Jeddah Police spokesperson Col. Mesfr Bin Dakhil Al-Juaid. Police withheld the identities of the accused and the victim. – Okaz __
