Dr. Abdullah Bin Saleh Al-Jasser, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information, cut the ribbon of the five-day ‘Indian Cultural Week' in the presence of Hamed Ali Rao, Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Saturday in Riyadh. — Courtesy photos RIYADH – Dr. Abdullah Bin Saleh Al-Jasser, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Information, opened the “Indian Cultural Week” in the presence of Hamed Ali Rao, Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Saturday evening here. The five-day cultural exhibition is being hosted by King Fahd Cultural Center, under the auspices of Dr. Abdulaziz Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information. Upon arrival at the venue, Al-Jasser cut a ribbon marking the opening of an exhibition containing pictures of antiquities and landmarks in India, and Plastic Arts Fair. Addressing the ceremony, Al-Jasser stressed the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Ministry of Culture and Information, on partnership and cultural exchanges with India and on the distinguished relations between the two countries in all fields. He said, “Two years ago, India was the State of Honor at the International Book Fair in Riyadh, and last year Saudi Cultural Week was held in India. This indicates ongoing cultural interactions and activities between the two countries.” For his part, the Indian ambassador emphasized the roles of cultural events in introducing Indian civilization, culture and arts and the promotion of cultural and intellectual relations between the two countries. An “Indian Food Festival 2012” will also be organized at Crown Plaza Hotel in Riyadh. – SPA
