AlHijjah 19, 1433, Nov 4, 2012, SPA - The Deputy Minister of Culture and Information, Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Jasser opened here Saturday evening the Indian Cultural Week in the presence of Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Hamed Ali Rao. Upon arrival at the venue, Dr. Al-Jasser cut a ribbon marking the opening of an exhibition containing pictures of antiquities and landmarks in India as well as Plastic Arts Fair. Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Jasser stressed the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Ministry of Culture and Information, on partnership and cultural exchanges with India and on the distinguished relations between the two countries in all fields. He said, "Two years ago, India was the State of Honor at the International Book Fair in Riyadh, and last year Saudi Cultural Week was held in India. This indicates ongoing cultural interactions and activities between the two countries." For his part, the Indian ambassador emphasized the roles of cultural events in introducing Indian civilization, culture and arts and the promotion of cultural and intellectual relations between the two countries.
