JEDDAH — The day that brings joy and glory to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was also an enjoyable day for the tiny tots of grades one and two studying at International Indian School, Jeddah. The Saudi National Day was celebrated with enthusiasm on September 24. The celebrations started with the recitation of a few verses from the Qur'an. Children were made aware of some mind-boggling facts about the country and the city to enhance their knowledge about the country that most people consider as their second home. Many poems like “Bismillah,” “Mother” and “Ya Tayba” were beautifully recited by the young boys. The traditional and popular Aardiya dance was performed by students who were garbed in Saudi dresses. In the end, everyone whole-heartedly sang the Saudi Arabian National Anthem, and appreciated the efforts of the teachers who had put together such a fabulous show. – SG
