Young physicists present innovative ideas By Mona Rahman The young physicists of Pakistan International School Jeddah (English Section) presented their ideas and models in Physics at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Auditorium. They successfully engaged the audience in their innovative explorations and creative activities and provided solutions for the development of their homeland country. The program started with the recitation of the verses from the Holy Qur'an by Abdullah Mosaid. The students creatively displayed, demonstrated and explained their projects followed by the Question and Answer session in Open House. The Principal, Sehar Kamran in her message emphasized on the importance of Science and Technology and lauded the efforts of the students and teachers and remarked that the students got an opportunity to exhibit their talents and skills. The winning participants were ranked in positions first, second and third as under: The first position was taken by a group of boys -Rayyan Ahmed, Mirza M. Musaab and Mohammed Sarmad Safdar for their project on Light and projector. The second position was bagged by a girls' group- Amna Saleem, Ghazala Abbas, Khulood Pervaiz, Mishal Riyaz, Sadia Shafqat and Umama Zubair for their project on Hydraulic System. And, the third position was again bagged by a group of girls- Eisham Sarmad, Eraj Naved, Sundus Fahim, Manal Mohiuddin, Yamna Khan and Zahra Hanif on their project on Wind Turbine. The other projects displayed and demonstrated included - The working of Alarm systems, Propulsion, Photo Electric Sensor Circuit, Elevators, Device used to identify charges, development in mobile phone technology, A.C generator, Power plant project, Burglar alarm and Communication satellites. The Organizer Mrs. Tabassum Nasir received a standing ovation for her untiring efforts by the students and faculty members.A glittering slumber party at HalaParties are always fun and slumber parties are all the more exciting because when the world sleeps,you party! Hala International School in Jeddah organized a ‘Slumber Party' in their premises on Feb.29. The children looked adorable in their night gowns. They carried a pillow and a bedsheet to school. The classrooms were beautifully decorated with glittering moon and stars. There were pillow fights, lullabies were sung and stories were read out to the tiny tots before they took a short nap in their classroom. When they woke up they were thrilled to brush their teeth with their friends to have breakfast together. The children were then taken to the park for a picnic. They had a wonderful time on the swing and slides. They played many games with their classmates and teachers. They had their snack and then went home after spending a memorable day at school. __
