Saudi Gazette The Obhur International School, Jeddah celebrated its annual day and academic prize distribution to the meritorious recently in Jeddah. meritorious students received their medals by the honorable Chief Guest Farida Filimban, who is also the sponsor of the school, along side Fatima Salihue, directress, and Tahani Sefri, principal. The event was themed around ‘Sunrise' as it symbolizes light, and the motto “Knowledge is Light.”The event started with the recitation of a few verses from the Qur'an followed by a speech from Nazima Zafar, Grade Coordinator, who highlighted the support of parents and teachers. The students presented a welcome song after which, everyone sang the school anthem OIS. Various dances and songs from different countries entertained the audience, along with a mind-blowing magic show and Tae Kwon Do show presented by grade 3. Eighth graders performed a few scenes from the very popular “Macbeth,” third graders performed from Hansel and Gratel, and the fourth graders performed from the Ananci Drama. The mothers and the school officials praised the efforts of the teachers, who had diligently worked hard to put the show together. Earlier, the welcome speech was delivered by Shamila Cader, Kindergarten Coordinator, who took the opportunity to thank Filimban, Salihue , Al Sefri, and High school coordinator Nazima Zafar for attending and gracing the occasion. __
