RIYADH – Dr. Jabarah Eid Al-Suraisiry, Minister of Transport, signed Saturday 41 contracts for the construction of roads in all regions of the Kingdom at a cost of approximately SR2.968 billion. These projects are part of those approved in this year's budget, he said. The minister said the projects signed for Makkah region include the completion of Al-Faijah-Sabt Al-Jaarah Road, Souq Al-Ain and Bani Dhibyan villages' roads, and road section to Al-Habi village in Bani Dhibyan at a total cost of SR43.4 million. The contracts also include the completion of the bridge linking Al-Arba'een Street with Al-Rawabi District, the remaining work for improving Al-Quwaizah intersection, and the completion of the first phase of the 10-km second ring road in Jeddah at a total cost of SR70 million. The total amount for contracts in Makkah region reached SR213.4 million. The contracts also include projects for roads and bridges in Madinah region worth SR180 million, Riyadh region at a total of SR239.7 million, the Eastern Province worth SR110.2 million, Al-Qassim region at a total of SR441 million, Asir region worth SR367.5 million, Tabuk region worth SR294 million, Hail region at a total cost of SR267 million, Northern Frontier region with SR140 million, Jazan region with SR309 million, Al-Baha region with SR199 million, Najran region with SR79 million, and Al-Jouf region with SR118 million. – SPA
