Asir-Riyadh rail link planned

ABHA: The Ministry of Transport has said that it is currently working on projects worth nearly SR1 billion in the province of Asir, including plans for a rail line to connect Asir to Riyadh via the Western Region.Jubara Al-Suraisiri, Minister of Transport, said that a study for the rail link is close to completion, while another is being carried out for a dual-carriageway in Aqba Shar. Al-Suraisiri, who said the works and others for Asir had a total value of approximately SR962.9 million, has been making inspection tours of projects in the region during which he has reiterated the importance of developers meeting contract deadlines.
