Abdul Rahman Al-Ali Saudi Gazette JEDDAH – Taif security authorities have arrested the two young men who appeared on a YouTube video clip which went viral, bumping and pushing a police patrol vehicle from behind and chasing a police officer. The two young men had a Jeep and a pickup truck and both were nabbed in a record time by the authorities. The owner of the jeep, who was pushing the police vehicle from behind in the video, had concealed his car in an abandoned area in Taif. He used a car cover and took off the license plates. Undercover agents were able to obtain information about the hiding place and reported it to police officers who seized the jeep and arrested the driver. The pickup truck driver was arrested while trying to sell his vehicle to a showroom in Taif. Police officers nabbed him before getting rid of the car. Lt. Col. Turki Al-Shehri, spokesman for Taif Police, said police received a call from someone who claimed that a vehicle had overturned in a picnic area in Taif. However, it turned out to be a prank call. “When one of our units arrived at the scene, police officers found the place full of young men and teenagers who were drifting dangerously with their cars. The area was unpopulated. The police vehicle got pushed from behind by two cars." Investigators are still interrogating both drivers. Sixteen vehicles were seized from the scene and traffic police set speed bumps on streets where young men were drifting to stop this dangerous hobby.
