Chelsea's Fernando Torres (R) scores against Manchester City during their English FA Community Shield match at Villa Park stadium, Birmingham, Sunday. — AP LONDON — Manchester City warmed up for its Premier League title defense with a 3-2 win over 10-man Chelsea in the Community Shield at Villa Park Sunday. Roberto Mancini's side is defending champion for the first time in 44 years and it is in no mood to relinquish its crown on the evidence of this vibrant display. City fell behind in the 40th minute when Fernando Torres struck for the European champion, but it took control of the annual curtain raiser to the top-flight season, which kicks off next weekend, after Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic was sent off for a foul on Aleksandar Kolarov just before half-time. Yaya Toure equalized for City in the 53rd minute of a fiesty encounter which featured eight bookings. Carlos Tevez put Mancini's men ahead with a superb strike six minutes later and Samir Nasri tapped in its third goal in the 65th minute. An 80th minute strike from Chelsea substitute Ryan Bertrand couldn't stop City winning the Shield for the first time since 1972. Ibrahimovic rescues PSG Star signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice and Paris Saint-Germain rallied from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 home draw with Lorient in the French league Saturday. Ibrahimovic, PSG's major summer signing from AC Milan, equalized from the penalty spot in the 90th minute after pulling a goal back midway through the second half with a clinical finish. “It was a fantastic debut for me. I feel good, although I'm not at 100 percent yet," Ibrahimovic said. “I've only been training with the team for 10 days, I still need some time to be fully ready. But that didn't stop me scoring two goals." PSG, which spent $185 million on players in the offseason in addition to a $123 million outlay last season, left to jeers at halftime, after an own goal from Brazilian defender Maxwell and a well-taken goal from forward Jeremie Aliadiere put the visitors 2-0 up. Bordeaux and Lille both enjoyed away wins Saturday, while defending champion Montpellier drew 1-1 at home to Toulouse Friday. A last-minute winner from midfielder Benoit Pedretti gave Lille a 2-1 win at Saint-Etienne, while Ludovic Obraniak, Yoan Gouffran and Henri Saivet were on target in Bordeaux's 3-2 win at Evian. In Saturday's other results, it was: Nancy 1, Brest 0; Nice 0, Ajaccio 1; Rennes 0, Lyon 1; Sochaux 2, Bastia 3, and Troyes 0, Valenciennes 1. — Agencies
