A night of music took place here recently with a full house of appreciative audiences. Event host Zee Qureshi got the ball rolling with a loud and enthusiastic “Good evening, Jeddah!” A talented boy named Mansour almost stole the show with the song “Pehli Nazar” (First Sight). Hassan Yaquob sang “Bhula Do” next, asking audiences to drain away all bad memories. Soon after, the crowd was treated to Salman Saleem's “Hawa Hawa.” Jawad Siddiqui gave full justice to the song “Sadda Haq Ethay Rakh,” which got the young audiences singing along. Mujtaba Butt perfectly sang “Hona tha Pyar” and Nada's “Ola la” let loose some butterflies in the stomach. The event would not have been complete until Shipla performed the item song “Chikini Chameli.” Danish Saleem gave a nod to the legend Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan when he sang “Piya Re Piya Re,” which proved jaw-dropping and touching at the same time. By then the energy level was still high, and audiences seemed to want more. They were not let down as Farhan performed “Hero” with live instruments. Mir Sario lent a traditional touch to the show by letting out his sindhi vocals while Desi Munda (Desi Boy) Hasanat rapped his Punjabi poetry tremendously. Rafay reminded audiences of teenage moments with “Aisa Pehli Bar” and Abdullah gave an outstanding performance of “Tu Hi Meri Shab.” The Mekail Group took the breath away as they moved to the dance floor, twirling and exhibiting flexibility and grace alike. The proverbial pearl in the oyster was chief guest Wania Jibran, who received a standing ovation. Jibran, a 14-year-old girl, took part in the reality show “Chotay Ustad” in 2010. Most recently she served as a background singer for the original soundtrack (OST) of the drama “My Dear Sautun.” Singing from the heart, she touched many listeners' hearts who felt privileged to hear the OST performed live. The song is currently conquering the airwaves. She also performed the Humsafar OST. Jibran was accompanied by guitarist Muhammad Zubair Makba. The show's final song left indelible memories. Duur by strings was performed live that night by Jibran, Danish Saleem, Jawad Siddiqui, Waqas Qureshi and Mansour Makba. Following the performances, a surprise award-giving ceremony was held to recognize the talented young performers. Sheikh Luqman and Sameera Aziz graced the event as special guests. Organizers included “AAG” (FIRE), Siddiqui, Ibrahim Malik, and The Power of Youth. The event's generous sponsors were Burhan Muneer of MoneyGram, Print Media Partners, Ilyas Meher, and Agha Muhammad Akram of Media Spot.
