Okaz/Saudi Gazette YANBU — A short circuit in the wiring of an air conditioning unit was blamed for causing a fire on a boat that turned one Saudi family's seaside picnic into a deadly affair. The family of 11 was picnicking on their boat near Sharm Yanbu when the short circuit caused the fire that engulfed the boat in minutes. Col. Hussein Musallam Al-Jeheni, the Border Guard spokesman in Madinah, said rescue teams contained the fire and treated the family members on the scene for minor burns and smoke inhalation. A young girl who suffered serious burns to her face was rushed to the hospital and her condition was reported to be stable. An elderly member of the family died after she went into cardiac arrest
