SABB-Advance, Miraflor share awards in FBGR-Almarai League

Advance and Jojo Miraflor rocked lanes to bag the Best Team and Best Bowler of the Week awards respectively in the 5th week of the Almarai Saturday Bowling League which is is sponsored by Almarai Company and organized by Filipino Bowling Group of Riyadh (FBGR) at the Universal Bowling Center (UBC).
Through the heroics of Mike Ecalnir, Ricky Talde, Leo Mabunga, Yasser Mohammed and Ahmed Al-Qarquosh, SABB-Advance, dismantled Alinma, 18-6, to romp away with the Best Team of the Week Award. Ecalnir topscored in SABB-Advance by posting a four-game series of 877 while Ricky Talde knocked down 846 points. Leo Mabunga and Yasser Mohammed contributed separate series of 809 and 773 while Ahmed Al-Qarquosh chipped in 640 points.
For the Alinma quintet, having a blind player, submitting the best score was Perfect 300 holder Ely Fanugao with 849 points. Jojo de Silva and Jess Ambon registered 767 and 742 points. Jerry Barce sealed 674 series in four games.
MV Mixers team, mentored by Ric Ventura, despite losing the game to Boiling Point, 11-15, had reasons to be jubilant when one of their bankable players Jojo Miraflor captured the Bowler of the Week honor.
Miraflor shot a four-game series of 921 on lines of 203, 211, 225 and 246. Next best came from Edgar Buenaventura and Chito Llagas who submitted separate series of 853 and 741. Debuting Ed Maduro, Benny Mondoy, Ric Ventura and Rocky Manipon shared separate series of 388, 382, 374 and 332 in two games.
Itqan Aces proved too strong to humble Almarai, 18-2, through the sterling performances of Joe Garrido (852), Jau Urbano (844), Stephen Solomon (838), Celis Viloria (746) and the scientific Princess Tabago (733).
Cas Encila led in Almarai by posting 784 points and he was followed by Paul Decena (769) and Fhel Ramos (752). Romy Cabrillas downed 507 series in three games while Michael Alarcon and Alex Arada contributed 337 and 332 points in two games.
Meron Na! rolled past FAB & Cool, 18-5 and saw Ruben Tan and Sonny Alviso at the helm in Meron Na! by posting 865 and 855 points respectively. Shakur Kamlian tallied 813 points. Gerry Damiray and Sidney Kawi had 786 and 747 points.
Leading scorers in Fab & Cool were Emil Rances (793), Lou Tugonon (744), Susie Rivera (547), Aaron Basas (434) and Rina Labo (379). The deadly duo of Jerry Austria and Willie Ortega powered FBGR Selection past Bowling Buddies, 17-1. Austria and Ortega led in FBGR Selection by submitting separate series of 841 and 805. Zaldy Torres and Jett Cabana came next by hitting separate series of 781 and 752 points respectively.
Joel Lambo and Rodel Canda added separate two game series of 391 and 387.
Zeus dela Cruz sparkled to be on top in Bowling Buddies by posting 687 points. Promising Angelo Train was next with 625 points. Dennis Serrano downed 548 series in three games while Ray Atienza, Dahlia Al-Nasleh and Angelo Salandanan registered 434, 368 and 365.
