Amjad and Essa blast centuries in 40-Over League

The opening day of the Phase II WPCA 40-Over Premier Cricket Tournament witnessed three matches. Zultec defeated Asian Plastic Factory (APF), Dopco Stars thrashed Mazco XI and Usman Gems downed AOT GFC by 131 runs.
This tournament is the main WPCA League which is being sponsored by Dopco and the championship will be known as Dopco Challengers Cup. In the Premier League, 8 top teams are vying for honors.
Dopco Stars elected to bat first against Mazco. Usman Ali smashed 60 off 27 balls, Khurram and Ijaz blasted identical 66, Safi made 44 and Shahbaz stroked 34 to plunder a mammoth 361. Tabassum grabbed 4-61 and Abdul Waheed 2-70. Imran and Usman got one wicket each.
Mazco, chasing the huge total, succumbed to 158 as Khurram grabbed 5-17, Mehboob 3-35, Shahbaz one and Riyaz one. Arif hit 38 and Imran 27 for Mazco.
Usman Gems opted to bat first against AOT GFC and put up 325. Mohammed Amjad hit 105 in 63 balls, Imran Choudhry 82 and Imran Sarwar 43. Shahzad grabbed 3-52, Kashif 2-17, Faiq, Qaiser, Imran Yusuf and Zeeshan one wicket each.
AOT GFC, chasing this huge total, was bundled out for194. Faiq Habib made 53 and Zeeshan 22. Skipper Hashim Khan scalped 3-31, Kashan, Amjad, Asif, Zahid and Imran shared the rest of the wickets.
Zultec batted first against APF. Abdullah Essa hit the first ton of the Dopco Challengers Cup by compiling 110. The team tallied 285-6.
APF, chasing this challenging total, was in complete control at the mid interval with the score reading 163-2. Nadeem Amin missed century by 4 runs in 63 balls. Rashid made a solid 35 and Usman 28 to get to 265-8. Jawwad Sagheer took 2-33, Bilal Khan 2-37 and Emad 2-45.
