The Prince Sultan Cardiac Center in Qassim organized a two-day advanced training course on ECG and cardiac arrhythmias at the Golden Tulip Hotel here on Wednesday and Thursday with the aim of educating the participants on various cardiac rhythm disorders which are common in the community. About 250 physicians from all over the Kingdom, medical students, technicians and nurses attended the course. Several experienced electrophysiologists from various hospitals of the Kingdom were invited as the guest faculty and they gave lectures and held interactive sessions besides chairing the proceedings. The faculty of the PSCCQ also participated in various teaching sessions. Several cardiac rhythm disorders affecting different age groups, genders and conditions unique to various ethnic groups were discussed. There were active interactions and exchange of questions and answers between the audience and the faculty. In his inaugural address Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Mesned, Director of the PSCCQ, highlighted the achievements of the center, both in terms of delivering the cardiac services and on the academic front. He also thanked the invited guests for their efforts to make the course successful. The participating faculty was felicitated during the opening ceremony and souvenirs and certificates were distributed to the invitees. Al-Mesned lauded the efforts of Dr. Mehboob Ali Dar, course director, for his contributions to the center in general and for organizing the program. The participants in general agreed that the objectives of the course in terms of raising awareness about management of various electrical disorders of the heart were fulfilled.
