A seminar on “Medical Update” was held by the Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), Riyadh branch, at the Marriot Hotel on April 27. The event was graced by the chief guest, Director General of Radiology and Applied Service of Ministry of Health, Saudi Arabia, Dr. Ali Al Mesned. The seminar attended by well-known doctors, consultants and specialists shed light on various topics related to medical science through their presentations. Divided into two sessions, the first session was moderated by Dr. Ahmadul Kabir, Dr. Pervez Alam and Dr. Mahfuza Begum and the second session was moderated by Dr. Niaz Khan, Dr. Arif and Dr. SK. Momtazul Islam. The topics addressed to the audience by doctors in their specialized area of study were: management of neuropathic pain by Dr. Khalid Abedin; a rare case in our pediatric emergency by Dr. Mohammad Anwarul Haque; diabetic ketoacidosis and hyperglycemia by Dr. AKM Abdus Salam; a case report and treatment of intractable hiccup by Dr. Ismat Kabir; coronary CT angiography by Dr. Emarat Hussain; and management of hypertension by Dr. Dina Abdul Fattah. Each doctor's presentation was followed by a general question and answer session from the audience. Dr. Mesned acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of the BMA in organizing such an enriching seminar. BMA president Dr. Emarat thanked the chief guest, other distinguished guests and speakers for attending, and his organization along with Nadia for organizing the program. The seminar was conducted by Dr. Zakiul Hasan Zakir.
