More than 200 regional and international speakers are presenting new trends and technology in the global fight against heart diseases. Their findings are the highlight of three-day joint conference of the 5th International Cardiac Congress of Saud Al-Babtain Cardiac Center and the 20th Scientific Session of the Saudi Heart Association. The conference opened here Tuesday at the Asharqia Chamber in Eastern Province. Over 95 sessions, more than 500 scientific presentations, and 11 workshops have been scheduled for the conference in which over 600 delegates and guests are participating. The scientific presentations are designed to cover an exciting and a wide range of state-of-the-art cardiac topics of all disciplines of cardiac subspecialties, according to Dr. Hamed Al-Omran, Director General of the of Saud Al-Babtain Cardiac Center and the conference's president. Three awards Three awards will be given to the best trainee, best oral abstract and the best speaker presentation. Live transmission of intervention sessions from cardiac catheterization laboratories, echocardiography laboratory, electrophysiology laboratory, and cardiac surgery operating theater are being presented. Participating in these live sessions were experts from the Gulf region, Japan, France, Taiwan, USA, Canada, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Turkey, The Netherlands, Egypt, Syria, and Lebanon. Two important aspects of addressing treatment for heart diseases will also be emphasized during the conference. These are the new nuances of nursing intervention and cardiac simulation training.
