The 7th annual Career Fair of the College of Business Administration (CBA) was launched Monday in the college's campus for women on Sari Street in Jeddah. Makkah Province Deputy Governor Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Khudairy, who launched the fair, said the launching was timely because the Kingdom is witnessing an unsurpassed rise of development with many investment projects offering “great opportunities to our youth”. About 40 companies participated in the event expecting to attract Saudi youth who are willing to be trained for jobs in keeping with King Abdullah's call for the private sector to help implement the government's Saudization program. To encourage questions, an open discussion was conducted by Dr. Nadia Baeshen, dean of the college's girls section, who was supported by Dr. Al-Khudairy. The students discussed several topics with Dr. Al-Khudairy, including the needs of the Kingdom's different regions. “Prince Khalid Al-Faisal has pushed the limits of the region to make it proactive as we see from the constant improvements and developments in every field,” said Dr. Al-Khudairy. During the discussion, Dr. Al-Khudairy said women have the potential to rise in their jobs just like men.“Women are capable of becoming professionals just like men,” he said. The fair and similar programs play a big role in helping the youth develop their careers, he said, adding that training the youth is a major part of the country's plan for the economy's sustainable growth and development. Dr. Al-Khudairy noted that the Saudi labor market is the largest in the Gulf and that there are many Saudi youth with excellent qualifications. The Career Fair was opened not only for college students but also for any female jobseekers, said Dr. Baeshen. The CBA conducts workshops and seminars to help its graduates decide what career paths to pursue in keeping with its motto: Educate for Employment. “We want to develop the potential of these young women so that they can be assets of society in a healthy environment,” said Dr. Baeshen. One of the workshops was about women's rights and duties in the work place. It was conducted by Khalid Abu Rashed, a legal consultant. Other seminars were conducted by Nayil Fayesz, President of Enjaz; Fatem Bundugji, a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Mahmood Turkustani, head of the social responsibility section at the National Commercial Bank (NCB). __
