A female Arab doctor has been ordered to pay SR1,675,000 to a father after she made grave medical errors during the delivery of his son. The order was made by the Shariah Health Commission, which looks into medical cases of private hospitals and polyclinics in the Riyadh region. The commission found that the doctor's errors caused serious mental and physical impairment to the man's baby son. The impairments include inability to talk or control defecation. However, as the doctor was not insured the commission has forced the well-known Riyadh hospital, where she works, to make financial restitution to the man. The Shariah Health Commission took up the case after the man lodged a complaint saying the doctor's actions caused the disability in his son Rayan. __
