The National Commercial Bank (NCB) has held recently a career day in Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam in which hundreds of young qualified Saudi job seekers were interviewed and passed the selection process, paving the way for the hiring of some 500 young men and women to be employed in the bank's branches in the Kingdom. Adel Alhawar, bank executive vice president and head of the bank's retail section, said the initiative is part of the bank's efforts to support the continuous efforts of Saudization. "The move of the bank is inspired by the initiative of the Saudi government, and in line with the efforts of relevant agencies by providing more job opportunities for the youth of the country and increase employment offers in the labor market in the Kingdom." He indicated that the bank's eagerness to employ Saudis is a national duty, in order to achieve one of the strategic goals of the state. "We are proud to achieve the goal of Saudization of all jobs in all branches of the bank 100 percent, which confirms our commitment to Saudization as a national responsibility with their social, economic and even security as well," he noted. Alhawwar said the career day initiative is in the light of more opening of bank branches resulting from rising demand for retail services. Saoud Sabban, executive vice president and head of human resources at NCB, confirmed that the Human Resource Forum held by the bank in Jeddah recently is a career day for NCB aimed at providing career opportunities for our graduates to work in the bank's branch network after passing a series of interviews and met the relevant job requirements. Sabban echoed Alhawar's stand that Saudization is a national responsibility. – SG __
