The National Commercial Bank (NCB) has recently signed an agreement with King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah, to kick off a training course under the title “How to start your own small business”. The initiative, outlined by NCB's continuous efforts in supporting social development, aims to help young men and women start up their own business that match their skills and abilities. The agreement was signed by Engineer Mahmoud Al-Turkistani NCB vice president and head of the Corporate Social Responsibility Unit, and Dr. Zuhair Tayib, chief executive of the Business and Knowledge System at the University of King Abdul Aziz. Al-Turkistani said that the cooperation comes within the framework of liaison between the two parties in the field of social activities and programs. These programs are dedicated to serving the community and contributing to the development of the national economy, through means of creating additional channels that would provide new jobs in the labor market, and in this instance encourage university students to launch their own small projects. He pointed out that the NCB's program for small businesses is one of the bank's community service programs, and it aims primarily to provide employment opportunities through a special mechanism devised to train small business entrepreneurs of young men and women, whether or not they are customers of the bank. The program, he affirms, is part of a series of non-profit programs initiated by the bank within its role in social responsibility towards the society. __
