Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — As part of its Eid Al-Fitr celebrations, the General Authority for Entertainment kicked off a major concert with performances by legendary Saudi singer Mohamed Abdo and popular Kuwaiti singer Abdullah Al-Ruwaished at Al-Jawhara center in King Abdullah Sports Complex on Tuesday night. The musical evening, organized by Rotana, drew over 4,000 spectators who paid from SR300 to SR2,000 to watch the performances. The show began at 9:25 p.m. with Al-Ruwaished coming onstage to an amazing welcome by the audience. He delighted his fans with his best songs and said the warm welcome made him feel at home. The Kuwaiti singer was at his best throughout the evening, displaying his incredible vocals that swept up his fans. After more than 60 minutes, it was time to do it all again when Saudi singing sensation Mohamed Abdo, who is known as "The Artist of Arabs", took the stage at around midnight to a rousing welcome from the audience. Abdo enthralled his fans for two hours with his new and old romantic and patriotic songs. His fans stood up and sang along with him some of his much-loved hits. As part of the General Authority for Entertainment's Eid programs, Jeddah residents will have another exciting concert on Thursday night with performances by renowned Saudi singers Abadi Al-Johar and Rabih Saqr.
