PISJ marks ‘the day of greatness' with zest

JEDDAH — Keeping the promise of getting right on track, Pakistan International School, Al Aziziya, delivered yet another extracurricular activity of the new academic year, celebrating Yaum-e-Takbir, a day of power and greatness for the Pakistan.
Yaum-e-Takbir, the day of power and supremacy, is celebrated every year by the Pakistani nation on May 28 to commemorate the country's first successful detonation of nuclear devices. It made Pakistan the seventh nation to possess nuclear weapon and the first in Islamic World.
‘Studies Forum' organized the event under the supervision of Riffat Shahida and the aegis of Principal Mohammad Bilal and Vice Principal Farhat Naeem. A delightfully warm and engaging audience of Grade 9-10 attended the event in a well-decorated auditorium.
The event started with the recitation of the verses from the Holy Qur'an, proceeding with translation and Naat. Later Shahida emphasized the historical importance and capacity of the day. She acknowledged the national heroes including the renowned Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan while congratulating and appreciating the political and military members for making Pakistan's defense strong and powerful.
The event continued with the cake-cutting ceremony by Farhat Naeem followed by engaging speeches by students Zainab Ayub and Sidrah Naseer on ‘Significance of Pakistan as Atomic Power in the Islamic World'. Khadija and Mariam House presented mesmerizing and heartwarming Tableaus that filled audience with passion and excitement.
The enthusiastic event came to an end with Naeem's detailed speech decorated with poetry in which she highlighted the geographical importance of Pakistan and its defense requirement. She stressed on the important role students can play in the progress of their country and motivated them to take raise their nation to glory.
