Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Pakistan ladies club "Helping Hands" celebrated 77th National Day of Pakistan at local restaurant recently. Large number of distinguished ladies from Pakistan community attended and marked the event with great zeal. The stage was beautifully decorated with national flags and banners with national slogans. Farhat Naeem and Tanveer Tariq were chief guests. Bint ul Hasan conducted the ceremony and welcomed all guests. She also highlighted the importance of day and said March 23 holds special significance for Pakistan and Pakistanis living all over the world. The function started with recitation of few verses of Sura Fatah from Holy Qur'an by Ayesha Nazir. After that the national anthem was sung. Rukhshanda Masood Puri, president Helping Hands, shed light on the memorable resolution of March 23, 1940, in her speech. She said today "I feel pleasure to celebrate National Day function from the Helping Hands platform. Saima Nouman, Durra Shahwar Adeel, Ayesha Nazir, Afshan Malik, Shumaila Shahzad and Fiza Durrani sang national songs with great enthusiasm. Farah Shamshad and Taj Bano presented tableaus highlighting the importance of the day and duties towards the country. Vice Principal of Pakistan International School (PISJ) Azizia also spoke on the occasion. She gave a highly educative and purposeful speech that contained valuable advices. She further said this day always remind us of the scarifies of freedom fighters. We should pray for those who shed their blood for achieving a separate homeland Pakistan under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The national song "Dil Dil Pakistan" was sung together by all the participants who then ascended the dais and expressed their patriotic feelings.
