JEDDAH — Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) has dealt with about 60 violations during the past five months, Faisal Kadasa, general manager of the corporation in Makkah region, has said.
The violations, he said, include stopping training on curing with energy. A Lebanese makeup artist has also been stopped from organizing training sessions for women. Kadasa said they have not yet approved distance training. He noted that they have an initiative in this regard but it is yet to be negotiated with other government departments to prepare the needed technological platform.
The TVTC, he said, does not approve training sessions the provide certificates called "chief trainers" but they approve certificates with the title "training trainers" or "enhancing the skills of trainers". Those authorized to enroll in these sessions must have at least a post-high-school diploma. These sessions must be not more than 10 days long with 60 training hours.
Adil Al-Ghamdi, head of the private training at the TVTC in Makkah region, said the corporation follows the quality of training sessions and courses. He said that they warn the violating establishments and if the violation is repeated the establishment is closed down and its license revoked.
Al-Ghamdi noted that there are 180 training institutions and centers of which 54 are devoted for women. There are also 682 trainers working in these centers and 467 administrative workers. Up to 9,504 individuals have received training in these centers this year.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Al-Fuhaid, TVTC governor, has said that the corporation has signed agreements with companies to recruit 10,638 individuals who are being trained at the Strategic Cooperative Institutes. He said that the job offers for these trained individuals may reach SR8,000. The TVTC hopes to increase the number of these institutes by 2020 to 35. They offer training in mechanics, electricity, industry, gas tourism, transport and desalination.
