The Technical and Vocational Training Council (TVTC) in Makkah region has cancelled the licenses of 10 institutes, stopped supervision of 19 others and issued warnings to 40 for violating TVTC's regulations, said Abdullah Al-Harbi, Director of Private Training Administration. He said TVTC has taken strict measures after numerous inspection visits to private institutes and centers in different governorates of Makkah region. These visits were carried out to check whether the institutes were complying with the required standards and conditions that would guarantee the graduation of Saudi nationals with high standards in various specialized professions. During the visits, TVTC uncovered a number of violations by some institutes and centers, most important of which were hiring instructors not recognized by the Council, delay in renewal of licenses, charging extra fees, noncompliance with the admission and registration conditions, relocating the institute or center without informing the Council and providing courses not approved by the Council. TVTC also found that some institutes were breaching regulations such as starting training before getting a license or not submitting an application for renewing the training license six months before expiry, negligence in registering attendance and absence of trainees, non-abidance by the percentages specified by TVTC for trainees' absence, and non-compliance with practical application of the curriculum.
