The Makkah Technical Council has opened the registration process for the Military Vocational Institute in Jeddah, which started on Saturday and closes on April 8, said Faisal Bin Abdullah Al-Maliki, the institute's Managing Director. Al-Maliki said interested individuals can register at the institute near Bahraa Bridge on Makkah Road, or electronically by logging onto the website of the General Administration of Joint Training Programs at www.jtp.tvtc.gov.sa. The one year course is divided into three sections of 13 weeks each. Applicants should be Saudi nationals with secondary school certificates or equivalent and graduates for not more than five years. They should not be older than 26 years of age when starting the course and should pass the compulsory medical examination. He added that the program is sponsored by the National Guard, the Ministry of Defense and Aviation, Ministry of Interior and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC). Al-Maliki added that the vocational military training institutes offer diploma certificates in specializations accredited and approved by the TVTC and classified by the Ministry of Civil Service. This qualifies graduates to take up a variety of military jobs immediately after graduation. The graduate trainee can finalize his training program at any of the colleges of technology and communications and he can be appointed to the Civil Service based on vacancies available. Graduates of scientific majors are classified in category five, grade two while Management Science graduates are ranked in category four, grade three. A ll graduates can apply for financial support from the Saudi Credit Bank via the institutes affiliated to the foundation in Makkah. __
