The curtains came down on the with Eritrean International School deservingly lifted the Senior Boys trophy of the Jeddah Sports Club (JSC) – Young Soccer League (YSL) 4th edition Football Tournament last Friday after beating International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) 6-0 in the final at the Dunk Floodlit Stadium in Jeddah to bring the curtains down on a well-organized event Earlier, in the Junior section final, IISJ emerged victorious with a 4-0 verdict against Al Wurood International School in a tough encounter that belied the final scoreline. The beauty and strength of African football was seen flowing at the Dunk floodlit stadium in the midnight of the final day. The stadium was fully-packed with holiday football spectators including media personnel from various international communities. Eritrean boys were electrifying with their fast movements and this resonated with the spectators, who applauded the grace, tactics and power in their display. The man-of-the match of the final, Desit Kebrood of Eritrea scored a hat trick, including an amazing bicycle shot goal. The final match also saw a second hat trick from Filman Sereke of Eritrea. Sereke was also adjudged the top scorer of the tournament with total 8 goals. IISJ stalwarts, including their high-flying goalkeeper Mashood, did their best to counter the Eritrean movements and in the first half they did succeed brilliantly to stem the tide. But, in the second half the floodgates opened with Desit snuffing out their hopes by triggering a goal rush. The junior section final also witnessed fitting final between IISJ and Al Wurood. IISJ took the early lead in the first half through their star striker Fadi, who scored a brace in the 9th and 10th minutes of the match. Fadi also emerged the top scorer in the tournament with 4 goals to his account. Other scorers from IISJ were Minhaj and Ramin. Minhaj's goal was one of the best goals of the tournament and it helped him to bag man of the match award. In the second half Al Wurood made a marvelous comeback but poor finishing let them down and could not succeed to find the target. Junior Tournament's best awards were picked up by: Faiz Ismail (JSC Defender); Rohid (Al Wurood Mid-Fielder); Nauim (Al Wurood Forward); Fadi of IISJ (Player of the Tournament); JSC Team (Fair Play). Senior Tournament's best awards were picked up by: Abdullah Harif (Novel School Goalkeeper); Farah Ammar (Eritrea Defender); Rashid (IISJ Mid-Fielder); Filman Sereke (Eritrea Forward); Saif of JSC (Player of the tournament); Novel International School (Fair Play). YSL tournament was powered by Jotun.
