JSC-Jotun Young Soccer League (YSL) International Football Tournament kicked off at Dunk Floodlit Stadium behind IKEA here Friday evening with Eretrea International School beating Al-Wadi International School 2-1 in the Under-15 tournament opener. Anas scored the first goal of the tournament in the 16th minute for Al-Wadi. But, Eritreans equalized within 3 minutes through Hani. Abel sealed the win for Eritrea at the start of the 2nd half. Eritrean captain Ahmad was adjudged the Man of the Match. In the second Under-15 match, Indonesian International School edged Dunk Spanish Academy 2-1. While Mohammed Al-Yzidi scored the goal for Dunk Academy, Ryan and Fayis found the target for the winner. Indonesian goalkeeper Fouad guarded their net with confidence and was named the Man of the Match. In the Under-18 Category, Dunk Spanish Academy humbled Indonesian International School 11-0. Mohammed Abdo of Dunk Academy scored five goals and was crowned the Man of the Match. Earlier, the tournament was officially inaugurated by Syed Masood Ahmad, principal of International Indian School Jeddah. The inauguration ceremony commenced with an attractive march past by all the participating teams and JSC's 120 trainees holding the JSC flag. The guard of honor was received by the chief guests, Syed Masood; Rasheed, physical education head at IISJ; Sugiyono Desmura, Indonesian School principal; Mathew, sports co-ordination head of Al-Wadi School; Naif, head of Dunk Spanish Academy; and Musa Salman, Eritrean school team manager besides officials of various sports and cultural organization in Jeddah. Four matches will be played April 8. In the Under-15 Category the first match will be between Indonesian School and IISJ, while the second match will be Al-Wadi School vs. JSC Soccer Training Academy. In the Under-18 Category, ISSJ boys will meet Dunk Spanish Academy in the first match, while the second tie will see Indonesian School take on JSC Soccer Training Academy U18.
